Help us to make our community a safer place to live
Residents living in Brighton want to set up a community safety committee and are seeking input and involvement from interested people.
The ultimate goal would be for the whole Brighton area to have a safety scheme that makes the local community an all round safer place to live.
So far ten ideas have been identified that if implemented could further protect our children, our streets and our homes.
These include:
• Walking school bus and Eyes on the street / Parents on patrol.
• Cyber safety unit.
• Cycling proficiency days and Road safety days.
• Stranger danger awareness.
• Safety house/s
• Neighbourhood Watch in every street – creating a deterrent and more secure streets.
• Street contact lists.
• Resuscitation and First Aid training
Obviously, a lot of the above ideas need to be fleshed out and explained
Wednesday 15th September Brighton Estate Residents Association will host an information forum on the Safe Community project as part of the 2010 Annual General Meeting for BERA.
The forum and AGM will be held from 6.45- 9.30 Wednesday 15th September Butler Community Centre.
Information will be presented to you and you will be able to SIGN UP to the various elements of this project.
We are providing the information as part of the process of setting up a Brighton safe committee but to reach this ultimate goal we need people to come forward with their ideas, and to help.
If you are interested in helping please give register your interest on email and set aside the date for this community forum meeting.
